Vernon Vermont
Vernon was originally part of the Hinsdale grant from King George, but this town has come a long way since then.
The Town of Vernon is governed by a five-member Selectboard, which is elected by the voters at the Annual Meeting held in March. The Board is made up of the following--Three 3-year positions (staggered) and two 2-year positions (staggered).
Vernon is the home of Windham-I's Representative to the Legislature, Michael Hebert who is in his first term in the Legislature. Vernon is proud to have him represent us as well as Guilford in Montpelier to the best of his ability as he is guided by the residents of both towns.
Vernon is also proud to be the home of Vermont's only nuclear power plant, Entergy-Vermont Yankee (or VY to the residents), a company that has been a good neighbor, watching out for the residents of the Town as well as the State.
