– Bonnie Carey, 67, of Vernon, was arrested on Oct. 29, for aggravated assault on a police officer and unlawful trespass.
According to Deputy Mark Anderson of the Windham County Sheriff’s Department, Carey was arrested after she pulled a steak knife on him in her residence. He said Carey was being investigated for entering unlawfully into residences in Vernon.
Carey was transported to the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital where she was evaluated by Health Care and Rehabilitative Services. During an evaluation at the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, Anderson said Carey assaulted a doctor.
Carey will answer to the charges in Windham District Court at a later date
